OSQA vs. AnswerHub

DZone has produced this white paper to help provide insight into the differences between the features offered in its open source Q&A platform, OSQA, and those offered in its enterprise-level platform, AnswerHub. Several years ago, DZone began its venture into Q&A software when it developed the “Open Source Question and Answer” system, or OSQA. Since DZone already had vast experience in online community building, the idea of creating a software platfrom that would allow others to build their own communities seemed like a logical step.

While OSQA was a great system for building Q&A communities, it lacked many features that enterprises required. It quickly became evident that DZone would need to make significant changes to OSQA to meet those expectations. Instead of reworking the OSQA model, DZone decided AnswerHub should be built from the ground up for extensibility and scalability, with all the insights gained from building and supporting OSQA.
